Waconia Youth Paddle School
The Waconia Youth Paddle School is an outdoor educational program geared towards the younger paddle generation. (ages 10 -14). The paddle school is taught by an experienced group of paddle guides from Spokes Paddle Company, which is based in the Lake Waconia area. All guides used within this program are local public school teachers that are passionate about introducing the outdoors to the next generation of explorers. The Youth Paddle School curriculum is designed to instill leadership skills, a love of the outdoors and a basic knowledge of paddle sports. All paddle classes will be taught using the Spokes fleet of Current Designs transitional sea kayaks and our touring Stand Up Paddle Boards. While on the water our students will be focusing on 3 BIG foundations: 1) Water Safety 2) paddle technique/craft control and 3) Outdoor Leadership. Kids will leave this class with a new life skill and will have a better sense of how to safely explore water environments. ALL paddle & safety equipment is included. All Participants should wear swim wear, bring a bottle of water & bring along Sun block and/or sun shading hats/sunglasses. Participants must be able to swim.
