Waconia Area Athletics

This youth clinic is offered for K-4th graders who want to play soccer this fall. There are several USSF nationally licensed coaches, including HS Coaches, running this clinic for our youth to keep them involved after the spring/ summer seasons have ended. The clinic follows the playpractice-play model incorporated by US Youth Soccer.

 

Equipment needed: Soccer ball (size 3 ball - PreK/K/1st, size 4 ball - 2nd-4th grade), water bottle, cleats and shin guards.

Please indicate your T-shirt size upon registering; if you register after the deadline you may not get your desired T-shirt size. YS-AXL.

Two rain dates are built in to the schedule.

The boys and girls soccer camp will include the play-practice play model incorporated by US Youth Soccer. Please bring a water bottle and soccer ball (size 3 or 4) with you to camp each day. If weather does not permit the camp will be held indoors. To be guaranteed a camp T-shirt you must register by the deadline. Note your preferred T-shirt size YS, YM, YL, YXL, AS, AM, AL, AXL. We will move indoors to the Waconia Middle School Gym in the event of inclement weather.

Challenger’s International Soccer camp is a new program that combines the best practices from around the world in a fun and upbeat program of skill-building exercises, challenges, and games! With different programs for all ages and abilities, the Challenger International Camp will help your child improve the most essential soccer skills and become more confident on the ball. Challenger’s International Soccer camp is a new program that combines the best practices from around the world with an interactive
digital coaching component that will accelerate the player’s learning experience both on the field and at home. Camp includes FREE ball and T-shirt. Learning to put spin on the soccer ball! Bending the ball over the wall on a free kick is one of the most exciting ways to score a goal in soccer. Learn the techniques and tricks needed to strike the ball flawlessly over the wall and into the back of the goal! The camp schedule will include improved soccer ball striking technique as well as ball bending tricks such as knuckle-ball, in and out curving and quickly dipping soccer balls.

NOTE: players signing up for this camp should have a mastery of shooting as this is the starting point for this camp.

Rain site will be the WHS Field House Gym.

Scoring goals doesn't happen by accident. Learn the techniques needed to put the ball in the back of the net and become a soccer striker that defenses dread facing in a game! Schedule will include mastering all foot surfaces to score, as well as the use of space and distance to create the ideal goal scoring environment.

Take your goalkeeping skills to the next level! The Waconia High School Varsity staff will be conducting this 3 day hour and a half camp to help goalkeeper improve their skills, manage save angles, perfect diving and master breakaway saves! Schedule includes basic goalkeeper technique, advanced save methodology and fun yet challenging games to maximize goal save potential. Space is limited for this camp so sign up early to reserve your spot!
