This is an introductory lacrosse camp ran by Elisabeth Doran. Elisabeth played 4 years in high school, and then four years for the University of Minnesota Duluth. This will be Elisabeth’s 8th year coaching girls high school lacrosse. The purpose of this camp is to introduce and prepare girls to the great sport of lacrosse, with a goal to help create a varsity high school program the following year (2018-19 school year). Depending on interest, the camp is offered for girls that are entering 3rd-8th grade (section 1) and 9th - 12th grade as well (section 2). The camp will provide an introduction to lacrosse’s rules, positions, and skills. We will work on shooting, cradling, defense, ground balls, catching, and many other lacrosse skills. It is open to experienced and new players. We build on preexisting skills, while also introducing the sport to beginners. Players are encouraged to wear cleats, but tennis shoes work as well. Please bring a mouth guard, girl’s lacrosse stick (which is different than a boy’s stick), and lacrosse goggles. If you do not own any equipment, please reach out to Coach Elisabeth (edoran@ isd110.org) as soon as possible and she will try to provide equipment as needed. If weather does not permit the camp will be held indoors at the Waconia High School Field House Gym.
