Carlson Tennis Lessons

Our mission with Junior Tennis is to provide a tennis pathway for kids from learning how to play to applying it in match play. Our Stars Program is for both beginner and those that have played. Tennis Little Stars Ages 4-6

This class is for our youngest players. We emphasize agility, balance, and coordination. Movement and tracking skills will give the kids the ability to properly handle a racquet and ball. We feel that this foundation will be instrumental in their long term success playing tennis. FUN and SUCCESS is our goal!

Tennis Rising Stars Ages 7-8

The goal of this class is control. We will split this group into two levels, past players and beginners. The kids will enjoy playing games and rallying the ball back and forth while working on technique and tactics. These kids will play games with rallying by the 2nd lesson and the final day will be full of games and competitions.

Tennis Future Stars Ages 9-11

We will split this group into two levels based on ability; however everyone will be rallying from the first day. Our emphasis for these kids is to get them to rally the ball and understand the fundamentals of the forehand and backhand groundstrokes, volleys, and serve. Wildcat Tennis Camp

Lessons are taught at Cedar Pointe Park located on Lake Waconia near Bayview Elementary School. Individuals are able to register for up to three sessions of tennis camp this summer. Participants should bring their own
age appropriate tennis racket and water bottle with them each day. If weather does not permit, the back-up location will be the Bayview Elementary School Gym – Enter thru the North Doors near the castle playground. Please note, we are NOT able to cancel/transfer or refund without 6 business days notice.

Carlson Tennis Competitive Program

The Competitive Program is the next step after our Stars Program. While our Stars Program introduces tennis the Competitive Program focuses on match play, tactics, and technique. Most kids advancing into this program consider

Wildcat Fall Tennis Camp

Waconia will be starting a tennis program in the Spring of 2020 and the Fall of 2020 for boys and girls! Come join this fun camp with our new varsity boys coach this fall. Each session will consist of skills, drills and matches. This is a great way to prepare for the upcoming tennis season. More information information to come!

Carlson Weekly Tennis Match Play

We will have weekly match play on Fridays for all levels. Sign ups will be through www.carlsontennis.com. We will run red ball matches, orange ball matches, and regular court matches for all ages. We will provide instruction and strategy critiques during play. Matches with other teams will be scheduled as well.

Give tennis a try or if you already play, come out for fun and games! The event is Free, Fun, and promotes a sport of a lifetime. We will introduce some tennis basics and get the kids playing games. Wear athletic clothes and bring water. Rackets are available if needed.
